The Leader of the Yoruba Socio-Political Party Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has stated that he will not support any candidate from the SouthWest or North for President of Nigeria in 2023. According to the Afenifere Leader, the presidency should be given to the SouthEast in the spirit of justice and equality. The SouthSouth, SouthWest and North have served in both the presidency and vice-presidency since the country's restoration to democracy in 1999.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was president for 8years, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has been the Vice President for 8 years both from the SouthWest. Goodluck Jonathan was President for 5years and before then VicePresident from the SouthSouth. Buhari is president for 8years from the North. The SouthEast deserves it this time around.
I won't back any SouthWest candidate because SouthEast is also a part of Nigeria and we want peace and equity to be the watchword going forward."
